CHRISTIAN NURTURING FATHERS FOR LIFE of Urban Light Ministries - Eli Williams 328-0122 - A scripture-based program that works to increase the number of responsible fathers who nurture children and build strong families through fatherhood education and peer mentoring.
CITILOOKOUT - Shelley Lopez 322-6532 - Partners with individuals and families, counseling them toward emotional, relational and spiritual healing and networking them to effective community resources.
PREGNANCY RESOURCE CENTER - Diana Timmons 525-3781 - Provides counseling, education and infant supplies to women experiencing a crisis pregnancy.
PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN: THE ARK of Children's Rescue Center - Sue Rose 324-2529 - Provides after-school activities, study tables, food, and Bible study for urban elementary age children in a safe and caring atmosphere.
CHILDREN'S RESCUE CENTER - Nancy Lutz & Susie Rastatter 324-2529 - Needs of urban families are met by reaching out with the love of Jesus Christ in a holistic, comprehensive approach.
THE SONSHINE CLUB of Urban Light Ministries - Rich Herzog and Eli Williams 328-0122 - Reaches out to children in elementary schools in a weekly fun club setting.
URBAN CHILD EVANGELIST of the Salvation Army - Ryan Ray 322-3434 - This ministry uses Sonshine Club and Project CHOICE to focus on evangelism of children and youth not associated with a church. PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH: H.O.P.E. PROGRAM - Jackie Mounts 322-4673 - Referred by the Juvenile Court, youth are challenged to examine the spiritual aspect of their lives and begin to understand that God loves them.
INSIDE OUT MINISTRIES - Bill Stout 525-9953 - Adults build relationships with youth in the south and central areas of the city to bring about positive change through activities, mentoring, and connecting with churches.
THE ROCK of Children's Rescue Center - Derek Drewery 324-2529 - After-school activities for urban middle school and high school aged students with study tables, computers, Bible study, and discipleship training.
SPRINGFIELD CHRISTIAN YOUTH MINISTRY - Faith Bosland 325-6183 - Equips youth to become better citizens through basic Christian discipleship, interaction, counseling, fun activities and field trips.
PROGRAMS FOR TRANSITIONS: DAILY BREAD of Children's Rescue Center - Betty Patton & Liz Harris 324-2529 - Food and clothing are distributed weekly and there are Bible studies, a monthly dinner for neighborhood ladies, and fun nights for men. THE GATHERING of Greater Springfield - Jeff Pinkleton 206-5595 - Addressing the moral, ethical, and spiritual needs of business, professional, and government leaders through one-on-one and large group gatherings.
THE HANNAH HOUSE - Selena Martin 450-2260 - Assists single mothers and their babies who are in a crisis, at-risk, or are homeless by providing a temporary home, mentoring and services.
JOBS & MORE - Bea Smith 525-6670 - Provides employability skills training, support, and employment opportunities for the unemployed, underemployed, and those coming off welfare and pairs them with a mentor.
LIBRE PROGRAM of Changing Lives Now - Sim Bowen 605-1066 - One year intense training program where men and women job train, get their GED, serve the community, take responsibility for their families, study the Word of God daily and become servants for God.
PROGRAMS FOR SCHOOLS: EAGLE AND DOVE ACADEMY - David Speas 325-2385 - A faith-based Christian organization dedicated to helping elementary students learn to read at grade level. It operates 170 days a year for three hours a day after school. Sonshine Club is offered on Friday afternoons.
PUBLIC SCHOOL OUTREACH FOR CHRIST - Erv & Angie Holland 505-4193 - Providing "chaplains" in middle and elementary schools; serving the most "at risk" students by meeting the student's and their families spiritual, physical, and emotional needs; while also serving the schools.
SERVICE MINISTRY PROGRAM at Catholic Central High School - Marcia Roth 325-9204 ext 246 - Helps students develop a Christian attitude toward service through J-term, working alongside local urban ministry leaders, and an all-school service day.
YOUNG LIFE - Ben Bonham 322-6643 - Through the sharing of the gospel, discipleship training, "hangouts," and summer camp, middle and high school kids take a positive direction in their life - supported by peers and centered on Christ.
MENTORING - Jeff Collins & Jackie Mounts 325-6226 - The Nehemiah Foundation, through Kids Hope USA and One2One Mentoring, seeks to mobilize the Body of Christ into meaningful ministry through discipleship and mentoring. COMMUNITY CONNECTORS - Sue Brown 325-6226 - The Nehemiah Foundation partners with Springfield City Schools to provide each city elementary school with a Community Connector. They provide effective relationship links between the school staff and the students, their families and the community. |
