How Are Ministries Supported?

2011 GRANT APPLICATION Choose format: MSWord Format or PDF Format _________________________________________ HOW ARE MINISTRIES SUPPORTED? The ministries supported by The Nehemiah Foundation are supported in a variety of ways:
Each summer, The Nehemiah Foundation accepts applications for requests for funding for Christ-centered organizations that serve Clark County. These applications are thoroughly examined and discussed by the Program Committee. This committee is made up of members from both the Board of Trustees and Board of Advisors. A decision is made based on the grant, interviews and budget and the ministries ability to fit the missin and vision of the foundation. Grants are then announced in December and the money is usually allocated monthly through the grant year.
Quarterly Leaders Forum meetings provide opportunities for networking and workshops on various aspects of leading an organization. In addition, Jeff Collins connects funded leaders with expertise found in the board of trusteess as well as the community.
Quarterly reports are a requirement of the foundation's grant to ministries. These reports assist the Program Committee and Jeff Collins, Program Officer, in making sure the leaders are fulfilling what they said that their ministries would do with the funds given in the grant. Evaluation is also based on what the ministry indicated it would do using the Mature Responsible Christian Adult paradigm. By working with the ministries throughout the year, rather than once at the end of the grant term, the foundation is better able to assist them in serving with more focus and intention to produce the outcomes they are trying to achieve.
The Nehemiah Foundation highlights funded ministries in monthly thank you letters, quarterly newsletters and other printed formats. Ministries are also listed on the website along with various "God Stories" and Kingdom achievements. The foundation also makes a point of highlighting ministries at each of its informational fundraising events: winter reception, spring luncheon, summer golf classic, and the fall breakfast.
The Nehemiah Foundation holds a monthly Community Prayer Gathering to which all funded leaders, Nehemiah Foundation staff and community members are invited. These gatherings are a time to pray corporately for Springfield and Clark County and the work being done for children and families. |
